Taal-ad-visie is a translation agency based in Sint-Andries, Bruges (Belgium), founded in 1997 by the current manager, Ann Michiels. Armed with an MA in Translation and Interpretation (French, Spanish and Dutch), she graduated in 1991 from the then ‘Provinciale Hogeschool voor Vertalers en Tolken’ (now Ghent University). Not only does she love languages and translation, she also has a penchant for classical music, literature, architecture, theatre and culture in general.
Customers
Over the past two decades, TAAL-AD-VISIE has built up a fairly large and diverse customer base. A selection of these:

Louis Kahn
Architecture
Interior design, conservation of monuments, the New7Wonders of the World, Chicago School. Architecture in the broadest sense of the word. This also includes descriptions of technical installations, catalogues of architecture exhibitions and publications in support of this applied art. Word at the service of the intended audience.
DANCE
Dance is the hidden language of the soul.
Martha Graham
Dance
The workings of the soul find rhythmic and melodic expression in a wordless body language.
ART CENTRES
Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

Emmanuel Kant
Music
A capella vs. Avant-garde – Classical vs. Contemporary – Old school vs. ‘Nederpop’ – Masonic music vs. ‘Triphop’. Music is of all times and cultures. A once-only unique live experience or the relistening of a CD. Everyone experiences it in their own way.
PUBLICATIONS
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.
Charles W. Eliot
Publications
Publications or the power of the written word… because they become silent witnesses of the interests and perceptions of our time. Publications in the form of magazines, catalogues, reference works or photo books, to which we – as a translation agency – were allowed to contribute. A privilege.
